Lillian Demers Roussin, 93, of Sanford, Maine passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, May 30, 2020. Born in Haverhill, MA on April 19, 1927, she was the youngest child of the late Alphonse and Maria (Jacques) Demers. Her family moved to Maine in the early 40's where they resided in both Kennebunk and Saco. She graduated from Thornton Academy in 1946.She had several diverse jobs in her working life. She worked at Pepperell Mill doing office work right after high school. She worked at Allain's Jewelry Store as a clerk, the Sanford dress mill as a seamstress, then rounding out her work life at Sprague electric. She great a great sense of humor, a joy for life, and was a friend to many. She loved to read and play games on her IPad. Lillian especially enjoyed social interaction and playing cards at the Trafton Center where she considered everyone there her friend. She lovingly considered the Trafton Center her home away from home.Lillian was predeceased by her husband Roland Roussin in 1971, her son Mark Roussin in 1986, and her brother Henry Demers in 1958.Lillian leaves behind her daughter Janet Roussin, with whom she had resided for the past 18 years, her daughter Lucille Hutchinson and her husband of Andrew of Arundel, son David Roussin and his wife Karen of Sanford, grandchildren Douglas Burr and his wife Rebecca of Kennebunk, Gregory Roussin and his fiance Erica Lovely of Berwick., Meghan Macderment and her husband Craig, of Essex Junction, VT, and the newest addition to the family, great grandson Finn Macderment the love of her life. She also leaves behind a sister in law Jeannine Beattie of Westbrook and several nieces, nephews , cousins, and of course her many friends.A private graveside service will be held at St. Ignatius Cemetery.To leave a message of condolence, click tab at left.
