Leo P. LaRose
Leo P. LaRose Sr. of Lebanon, died peacefully surrounded by family on February 26, 2016. He was born June 23, 1923 in Sanford, Maine, the son of Paul and Serverine (Allaire) LaRose. He attended local schools and served his country in World War II and the Korean War. He was in the Army Air Corp., Air Force and Army. Leo completed his military career in The Army National Guard retiring with over 35 years of service to his country, in Europe, Asia, the US and Australia. He later worked for Capital Taxi, eventually buying the business and running it for several years. He also worked security at Nasson College. Leo enjoyed hunting, fishing, Nascar , watching old westerns and weekly mass on television. He was a loving son, grandson, husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather, great grandfather, and great great grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Mildred (Godin) LaRose; an infant son, Leo LaRose Jr.; stepmother Johanna (Sicard) LaRose; brothers Arthur, Donald, and Richard LaRose; and son-in-laws, Butch Rounds and Charles Kirkpatrick. He is survived by his 5 children and their spouses, Theresa Kirkpatrick of Lebanon, ME, Leo and Diane LaRose of IL, Normand and Jeannine Lambert of FL, David and Irene Daney of Lebanon, ME, Larry and Rose Woods of Lebanon, ME, his brother Paul LaRose, brother Albert and his spouse, Sharon LaRose. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and their significant others, Lisa Ponce of CA; Tim Rounds, and Missy and Ted Ivey of TN; Jennie and Don Charette of ME., Sabrina and Adam Fleming of ME., Normand and Shana Lambert, Brien Lambert, Julie and Matt Riegel, and Angel and Chris Cooper all of FL. Marcy and John Cook of NH, Robert and Deserae Kelley of MT; James and Christina Kelley of ME., Natasha and Jon Kinney of ME; 11 step grandchildren, Fred, Sean and Ryan Kirkpatrick, Melissa Waller, Nick Mosley, Michelle Topp, David Jr., Heather, Aaron and James Daney and Torri McGraw. He was also blessed with many great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Leo was a charter member of the Sanford Am Vets. He was also a lifetime member of the Sanford VFW. In recent years, a member of the Lebanon American Legion Post 214. The post honored Leo in 2009 with an Eagle Cane made by the Maine Wood Carvers Association. Leo also received a Quilt of Valor in a 2014 ceremony in recognition of years of service to his country. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday June 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. At St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church, North Avenue, Sanford, Maine. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that considerations of donations be made to, Victims, Inc., P.O.
