Lee Goodwin

Lee E. Goodwin, 61, of Springvale, died at his home on Sunday, March 14, 2021. Lee was born in Dover on November 28, 1959 to Franklin and Pearl (Cross) Goodwin. He grew up in South Berwick where he attended local schools, graduating from Marshwood High School in 1978. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from 1979 to 1983. He had been employed at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for the past 30 years as a pipefitter in Shop 56 and as a training instructor in Code 900T. Lee loved listening to music, attending concerts, especially of his favorite band Rush and enjoyed playing his guitar. He was an avid sports fan and loved to cheer for and attend the games of all of the New England sports teams. He had been a season ticket holder for the Boston Red Sox and was even able to have the opportunity to take batting practice at Fenway Park. Lee and his wife had a goal to visit every baseball park in the major leagues and he had the opportunity of visiting 14 of them. Lee was also a fan of car racing and liked to watch Indy Car, NASCAR and Formula One. During the summer, Lee could often be seen riding around in his convertible black Mustang on nice days. He was a loving and devoted family man and was particularly fond of spending time with his grandsons. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends. Lee was predeceased by his parents and by four siblings, Rodney Goodwin, Grace Goodwin, Frances Wentworth and Jerry Goodwin. Surviving are his wife, Kathy Goodwin of Springvale; his son, Lee Goodwin of South Berwick; two step children, Amie Morrison and her husband Brendan Kennedy of Alfred and Roger Morrison and his significant other, Kearsten Metz of North Berwick; two grandchildren, Cormac Kennedy and Henry Morrison; two siblings, Nancy Sullivan and Collin Goodwin and his former spouse, Margo Goodwin. At Lee's request, arrangements will be private.
