Laurence H. Gowen

Laurence H. Gowen, 68 years old, of Braintree, MA died suddenly on February 23, 2007. Mr. Gowen was born on November 22, 1938 in Boston, MA. He was the son of the late Elwyn G. and Annette (Goodwin) Gowen. He attended local schools, and Nasson College. Mr. Gowen proudly served his country as a medic and operating nurse in the United States Navy. Over the years Mr. Gowen worked in theatre as a stagehand, becoming the "master carpenter" of the Wang Center of the Performing Arts in Boston. He was a retired member of I.A.T.S.E. local 11 stagehands. Surviving is his wife of 46 years Rebecca Gowen and his son Sean Gowen, both of Braintree, MA. At Mr. Gowen's request, services will be private. Services have been arranged through the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home of Springvale, ME.
