Kenneth W Meserve

South Portland- Kenneth W. Meserve Sr., 73, of, Broadway, died peacefully on Monday, September 3, 2018 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House following a long illness, his loving family was by his side.
Kenneth was born in Portland, Maine on October 18, 1944, the son of the late Irving N. and Anna M. (Caron) Meserve. He attended local schools and earned his diploma from Portland High School.
Always a hard worker, Kenneth started his career as a truck driver with Owen Moores Company, where he was a truck driver for more than 20 years. He ended his career driving for Bisson Moving Company, retiring in 2008, after more than 10 years of service.
In his spare time, Kenneth was a huge NASCAR Racing fan, traveling to the New Hampshire Speedway on several occasions to watch the races. He was a longtime member of the Portland Eagles Club where he had many friends. Kenneth was a very private person who had many tragic setbacks in his life but always seemed to persevere. He was very devoted to his family and always made sure they came first. He will be remembered as an honest, hardworking, family oriented, good friend with a slight stubborn streak. Most importantly he will be remembered as a good father.
Kenneth was predeceased by two sons, Kenneth Meserve Jr. and Donald Meserve; a sister, Rose McGee. He is survived by a granddaughter, Caitlin Geary of Windham; four sisters, Faith Knudsen of Portland, Linda Poore of Norton, MA, Susan and her husband Russell Kimball of Gorham, and Gloria Moore of Portland; many nieces and nephews.
At the family's request all services will be private. Kenneth will be laid to rest with his two sons in Calvary Cemetery, Broadway, South Portland, ME. You were an amazing man, father. son,friend and more importantly ,to me, an amazing brother. I will miss you, but will think of all the good times we had as kids, and will never forget your “Stubborn Streak”. These memories will keep you alive in my heart.
