Kenneth L. Covey

Kenneth L. Covey Sr., 59 years old, formerly of Saugus, MA, and a resident of Newfield, ME since 1988 died on Tuesday, January 9, 2007.Ken was born in Lynn, MA on June 5, 1947. He was the son of the late Alfred L. and Irene P. Manning Covey. He attended Lynn schools and was a carpenter by trade.Ken was a Past Master of William Sutton Masonic Blue Lodge in Saugus, MA, a Past Patron of the Tontoquon Chapter #100 Order of Eastern Star of Saugus, MA, and served as a member of the advisory board for the Saugus Assembly #33 International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. Ken enjoyed the outdoors. He liked to fish, garden, and build additions onto his home. He enjoyed studying rocks, and gemology, but above all he enjoyed time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.Predeceasing Ken was a brother Joseph Covey of Seattle, WA.Surviving Ken is his wife of 40 years, Olive Caithness Covey of Newfield; their daughters, Robin Lowe and her husband Daniel of Saugus, MA, Laurie Davis and her husband Glen of Saugus, MA; three sons, Kenneth Covey Jr., and his wife Tina of Carthage, NY, Scott Covey of Lynnfield, MA, Matthew Covey of Sanford, ME, and 10 grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Deborah Elder of Seabrook, NH, a brother William Covey of Oklahoma, a special cousin Richard Mageary of Lynn, MA and several nieces, nephews, and friends.A period of visitation for Ken will be held this Sunday, January 14, 2007 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale, ME; where funeral services will be held on Monday the 15th at 11:00 AM.For those that desire, memorial contributions may be made in Ken's honor to Shriners Hospital, 51 Blossom St., Boston, MA 02114.
