Kenneth H. Bunker, 67, of Acton, died Saturday, October 11, 2008, at Maine Medical Center in Portland.Kenneth was born in Sanford on September 30, 1941 to Henry and Alice Blais Bunker. He was a dedicated patriot, serving his country in the U.S. Army as a door gunner in Viet Nam. He was an avid outdoorsman and a devoted family man. He was a member of the VFW, the American Legion, the AMVETS, the Disabled American Veterans Association, the NRA, and the Fish and Game Club. He also enjoyed wood working and rooting for his son at baseball games. He will be dearly missed by his friends and family.Kenneth was predeceased by his wife of 23 years, Anita M. Bunker and his father, Ralph Bunker.Surviving are his mother, Alice Bunker of Acton; two sons, Kenneth Bunker and Jeffrey Dugre, both of Sanford; two daughters, Jessica Machinski of Sanford and Janet Vincent of Louisiana; two brothers, George and Carlton Bunker; five sisters, Theresa Waddington, Linda Grant, Christine Bunker, Darlene Ham and Sylvia White and six grandchildren.Visiting hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, October 15th at Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, October 16th at St. Ignatius Cemetery located on Berwick Road in Sanford.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, 284 State Street, Augusta, ME 04333.
