Keith A. Knight, Sr., 54, of Springvale, died on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.Keith was born on November 20, 1960 to Everett and Marilyn (Brusso) Knight in Salem, Massachusetts where he grew up and attended local schools. During his working life he was employed as a cook in the food service industry. He worked for many years with his mother at the IHOP in Peabody, MA and was also employed at several other restaurants. He had worked most recently as a cook at the Cockpit Cafe in Sanford.Keith was a sports enthusiast. When he was young he enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, football, hockey and had been a member of a bowling league. He was a big New England Sports fan and loved watching and cheering for the Patriots, red Sox, Celtics and Bruins. He also enjoyed playing keyboard, poker and board games. Keith was an easygoing quiet man who made friends easily wherever he went. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.Keith was predeceased by his parents and by a brother, David Brian Knight.Surviving are his wife, Dorothy "DJ" Knight of Springvale; six children, Taunya M. Knight of Amesbury, MA, Sara L. Knight of Waterboro, ME, Keith A. "Keithie" Knight, Jr. of Waterboro, Adam C. Knight of Acton, Matthew J. Knight of Springvale and Sebastian T. Knight of Springvale; five grandchildren; two siblings Joseph Knight and his spouse Karen of Salem, MA and Cindy Knight and her spouse Cassandra Stevens of Sanford, ME; his father-in-law, John "Jack" O'Flaherty of Rutland, VT and several nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 7th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street, Springvale, ME.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the Cam Neely Foundation, 30 Winter Street, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02108.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
