Keith E. Dolan

Keith E. Dolan, 73, of Wells, passed away Monday, April 13, 2009 at the Kennebunk Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after a long and courageous battle for life.Keith was born in Sanford, Maine on September 23, 1935 to William and Geraldine (Brooks) Dolan. He grew up and lived in Springvale until moving to Wells in 2003. He graduated from Sanford High School in 1954, served four years in the Air Force and then attended the University of Maine. After college, Keith worked for a few years at a drug wholesale company in Portland setting up and running their computer department. He then went to work for the Hussey Seating Company in North Berwick in their computer department. He managed their company credit union for 20 years as well as managing their personnel computer department. He retired from Hussey Seating in 1998.Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Diane (McCrellis) Dolan of Wells; a son, Gary Dolan and his wife Nancy of High Springs, FL; a daughter, Lynne Dolan-Richard and her husband Steve of Springvale; a sister, Eileen Metcalf and her husband Ronald of Kittery; a sister-in-law, Janice Woodman and her husband Eldon, of Sanford; a brother-in-law, William Allen and his wife Donna, of Portland; several nieces and nephews and their families.At the family's request there will be no services. A memorial luncheon is planned for family and friends from11:00 AM - 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 18th at the Family Center, 574 Main Street in Springvale next door to the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be sent to the charity of one's choice.The family wishes to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff of the Kennebunk Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for their care and kindness during the time Keith was a resident there.Arrangements are under the direction of Carll-Heald & Black in Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family, please click on the condolences tab to the left.
