Kathleen M. Moran

PORTLAND - Kathleen M. Moran, 86, of Portland, died peacefully June 10, 2011 at Mercy Hospital. She was born March 28, 1925 in Portland, a daughter of Herbert A. and Delia A. Conley McNeill. She was educated in local schools graduating from Cathedral High School, Class of 1942. She married Thomas J. Moran and began raising her family. She was a former communicant of St. Dominic's Church, Holy Cross Church and St. Pius X Church. She was very active in parish work and activities. Kathleen worked as a Medical Secretary for Dr. John J. Lappin for 22 years, retiring in 1965. She enjoyed skiing, tennis and sewing. She was a former member of the Lifeline Program at USM, Cathedral-McAuley High School Alumna Association and St. Pius X. Guild. She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Thomas in 1991. Surviving are: her son, Christopher T. Moran of Portland; her sister Mary Gallant of Waterville and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, June 13th at Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172 State Street, Portland. Prayers will be recited 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, June 14th at the funeral home, followed by a 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Pius X Church, 492 Ocean Avenue, Portland. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
