Katheryn P. Rand

Katheryn P. Rand, 73, of Lebanon, died on Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at the Pavilion in Sanford.Katheryn was born in Lewiston on December 17, 1936 to Howard and Ruby (Smith) Tripp. She grew up in Oxford where she attended local schools. In 1957 she married Linden Rand and together they raised five children. Katheryn lived in North Berwick during the majority of time that she was raising her family and then moved to Lebanon in 1983.Katheryn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who dedicated most of her life to caring for her family. She enjoyed going fishing and camping with her husband and spending time around her home with her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching and feeding the wild birds and tending to her flower gardens. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Katheryn was predeceased by her husband, Linden Rand and by six siblings, June Grant, Helen McInnis, Lorraine Collins, Bobby Tripp, Linwood Tripp and George Tripp.Surviving are a daughter, Debra L'Heureux and her husband Paul of Sanford; four sons, Scott Rand and his wife Donna of North Berwick, Craig Rand of Richfield Park, NJ, Todd Rand of Abbot, ME and Mark Rand of Acton; two sisters, Mary Austin of Norway, ME and Gloria Austin of Oxford, ME; two brothers, Paul Tripp of Norway, ME and David Tripp of West Paris, ME; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.Visiting hours will be held on Friday, January 29th from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street in Sanford.
