Katherine E. Mira

SOUTH PORTLAND - Katherine E. Mira, 88, of South Portland, passed away on August 25, 2014 at Pine Point Center in Scarborough. She was born in Rockland, ME on November 30, 1925, the daughter of Frank A. and Georgia A. Lane Elliott. She graduated from South Portland High School in 1943. Katherine worked in the Portland area as a waitress retiring from Vallee's Steak House after 25 years of service. Predeceased by her son Richard L. Johnson in 2012 and a brother, Frank Elliott; Katherine is survived by her daughters; Leslie Brown and Jamie Mira, both of South Portland; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family wishes to extend a special thank you and their appreciation to Pine Point Center for the amazing care given her final days as well as Mercy Hospital and Portland Center for Assisted Living. A graveside service will be held 12:00 p.m. Noon on Thursday at Brooklawn Memorial Park, 2002 Congress Street, Portland.
