June was born in Portland, Maine on January 21, 1943 the daughter of the late Harlan and Mary J. ( Krasowski) Strom. She attended local schools and graduated from South Portland High School in the class of 1961.

Always wanting to stay busy, and able to accomplish what ever task she set her mind to, June was always taking on a project or attending a class to improve her skills. She loved doing all types of crafts, she loved to sew and quilt and could make anything. She loved to dance and was often enrolled in a dance class which may have been clogging, ballet, tap or just attending local dances with friends. Friends and family always enjoyed and admired the beautiful gardens in her back yard. She was an awesome cook and family always looked forward to the holidays because they knew June always had her homemade fudge and needhams to share.

So sorry to learn of June’s passing. Our friendship went way back to grade school when beginner band was operational and I met her and her trumpet. We continued on through Jr. high band and SPHS band. June met my close friend Chuck and it was bingo. June was still around as Chuck and I played four years in the Maine Maritime Academy band. Last time I saw June she attended the Peter and Jaquar part of the SP class of 61 50th reunion. She was a beautiful woman, smart and full of life. She will be missed by all who came into her life.
