Julia Eileen Conroy

Nevada - Julia E. Conroy died on Sunday, July 10, 2016. She was born on August 13, 1932, in Portland, ME. She was the daughter of James and Delia (Concannon) Conroy. She attended Holy Cross School, and graduated from Cathedral High School in 1950. She went on to Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, graduating in 1950; University of Nevada Reno, graduating in 1975; and UCLA Graduate School, graduating in 1978. After receiving her Bachelors degree, she worked as a registered nurse at the Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and retired in 1997 after working for 47 years. She moved many times during her lifetime, including spending 11 years in New York, 4 years in San Francisco, 19 years in Long Beach California, before settling down in Nevada. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 7:30-8:15 am at Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Prayers will be held at the Chapel at 8:15, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am at Holy Cross Church, 124 Cottage Road, South Portland. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
