Judy Marie Langlais, 61, of Sanford, died peacefully in her home on May 15th surrounded by family. Judy was born September 14, 1957 in Brockton, Massachusetts to Charlie and Lucy Brown.Judy spent her early years as a successful swimmer and gymnast with an appreciation for the outdoors who fell in love with James Langlais of Sanford, Maine. She was a giving soul who cared for everyone tirelessly while never wanting anything in return. The term rest in peace is not in her nature as we know she will be busily watching over us for all eternity.She worked for Vishay Sprague for many years. Once Sprague closed she worked with a surveyor while she earned her associates degree in business office management from YCTC. Judy eventually found her passion in life working with students as an employee at Spurwink. Judy was very fond of her co-workers and committed to her work with autistic children. She was known for her attention to detail, ability to communicate with kids who truly struggled to communicate and giving all the love to them that she could.Family was always the most important thing to Judy. Words can't capture who she was as a person. She enjoyed her work, her flower beds, butterflies, bird watching, fresh air, the ocean, listening to music with Dad, spending time with family and dogs, especially her black lab Sable B. Judy is survived by her husband of nearly 43 years James Langlais, two children, daughter Carrie-Lynn Langlais Furr, her husband Richard and their son Graysen of Boone, North Carolina, son Kalvin "Jake" Langlais, his wife Allison and their children Madison and Karter of Lewiston, two sisters, Sue Farrell and her husband Jeff of Mansfield, Massachusetts, Ellen McGuire of Somersworth, New Hampshire and a brother,Charles "Skip" Brown and his wife Laura of Manchester New Hampshire.A celebration of her life will be held at the Nasson Community Center Little Theater, 457 Main Street, Springvale on Sunday May 19th from 1-4 PM. Light fare will be provided. Feel free to bring your own refreshments as well.The family asks in lieu of flowers that you donate to James Langlais to assist with services at 12 Camire Ave. Sanford, Maine 04073 or the Sanford Elks Lodge in support of the Maine Children's Cancer Program at 13 Elm St. Sanford, Maine c/o Rick Drouin.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
