Joyce H Moore

Joyce H. Moore 88, of Sanford, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, November 20, 2023, at Summer Commons nursing home in Sanford. She was born on September 29, 1935, to Bernard and Marjorie (Mosher) Herrick in Eau Claire Wisconsin and grew up in Melrose MA. She attended Melrose High school, and after graduating, she went to nursing school. She married Roger W. Moore on November 27, 1957, and raised a family of three children. She worked as a nurse at various nursing homes/assistant living facilities because of her love for older people. She also worked as a school nurse for several years, which was probably her favorite job. She is predeceased by her parents and her husband. Survivors include her daughter Janet Cloutier and husband Mark, of DE, her son Paul Moore of Nashua NH, her daughter Laurel Chalmers and husband Kerry of Sanford ME, a grandson Brian Cloutier and wife Megan of MD, a granddaughter Stephanie Preston and husband Dalton, a granddaughter Meghan Chalmers and husband Michael, five great grandchildren, Daniel, Anna and Micah Cloutier of MD, and Andi and Clay Preston of WI, her sister Evelyn Thornton of Peabody MA, a brother Charles Herrick also of MA, and several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life service is being planned for late December. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to: Tabernacle Christian School, 242 Litchfield Rd., Litchfield, NH 03052. Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes and cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale ME.
