Joyce P. Goodfield, 79, of Springvale, died on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford.Joyce was born on June 5, 1936 to Harold and Edith (Littlefield) Day in Springvale where she grew up and attended local schools. During her working life she was employed at Universal Shoe where she stayed for several years until she left to raise her family. After 10 years when her children were old enough she began working at Augat in Sanford. She was employed there for many years until she retired at the age of 62.Joyce enjoyed working and cleaning around her house and keeping a nice home for her family. She liked going out to eat and looked forward to taking weekly outing with her children and grandchildren. Joyce had a sweet tooth and a lifelong love of candy. She also enjoyed listening to music and singing. She was an outgoing woman with many friends. She loved talking to her family and friends on the phone and her family looked forward to her daily calls. Joyce will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be dearly missed. Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Robert Goodfield and by five siblings, Russell, Violet, Valerie, Sammy and Rita.Surviving are two children, Kathy Fraser and her husband Jerry of Wells and Gary Charpentier of Wells; two grandchildren, Jason Bedell and his wife Wendy of Wells and Alie Charpentier of Wells; three great-grandchildren, Logan, Hayden and Regan Bedell, all of Wells; her former spouse, Albert Charpentier of Wells; three sisters, Shirley Roux of Alfred, Betty Hachey of Springvale and Ferne Penney and her husband Tom of Shapleigh and many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held from 9:00 to 11:00 AM with a memorial service beginning at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 5th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale.
