Windham – Joseph Paolino Jr, 76, passed away on March 5, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Portland, Maine, graduated from Portland High School, attended Southern Maine Community College, and served in the National Guard. He worked for nineteen years at United Parcel Service and loved delivering the rural routes. He was a gifted contractor and started his own construction company, J & E Builders, where he built homes for many families. Hunting season was his favorite time of year; he was an avid hunter with rifle, shotgun, and bow. Joe was a skilled negotiator, and enjoyed “wheeling and dealing” cars, which he did throughout his life.

He was predeceased by his parents Joseph Paolino Sr. and Shirley Newcomb, his wife Lori Kerschbaum Paolino, and his brother Michael Paolino. He is survived by his sisters Donna Kelsen and Mary Sue Thompson and husband Butch, sister-in-law Kerry Paolino, son Joseph Paolino and wife Rolande, daughter, Kristine Paolino Taylor and husband Keith, first wife Linda Paolino Naylon, and a step-son, Evan Kerschbaum and wife Victoria.

Joe will be profoundly missed by his family and friends. Per his request, his family will hold a private celebration of life.

In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be given in Joe’s memory to Gosnell Hospice of Southern Maine, 390 US Route One, Scarborough, ME 04074, or online at www.hospiceofsouthernmaine.org/donate.

  2. Pat (Paolino) Grace
I am so sad to hear about Joe. I have such wonderful memories of our families as we grew up and being together alot. A terrible loss for all the family. My loving thoughts to all. Rest well my cousin !

  3. I am so sorry about this terrible news. Joe was one of the kindest people I was lucky enough to know when I was young. My heart goes out to you, Joey and Kris. Your dad was a wonderful, generous, funny man and I am so sorry you lost him.

  4. My family and I ( The Shevenell Tribe) lived five houses down the street from the Paolino family. Bradley Street was quite a street and the many fine times we had when we were all so young. My heart is filled with fond memories of the many events we had on that street. I write to the whole family and extend our deepest Sympathy for your loss. He will always be Joey to me, God Bless Him and God Bless the whole Family, you are in our thoughts and Prayers. Julie Shevenell Barker
