Joseph M. Olszewski ALFRED - Joseph "Joey" Olszewski, 28, of North Hollywood, CA and Brackett Hill Road, died on Thursday, September 2, 2010 in Burbank, CA. with his family and closest friends at his side, following complications from pneumonia and acute respiratory distress syndrome. Joey was born on his father's birthday, March 16, 1982 in Portland, a son of Joseph and Marlene Olszewski. He will be remembered as a precious son, loving brother, and gifted athlete. He graduated in 2001 from Massabesic High School in Waterboro and in 2005 from the University of Maine with a degree in sociology. While at Massabesic he was a member of the 2000 Class A State Championship Football Team. Joey was named an All Conference Team Running Back, All State All-Purpose Back, SMAA Champion for football and track. He was also named to Portland Press Herald's All-State team and played in the Maine Shrine Lobster Bowl Classic. While at the University of Maine Joey ran track his freshman year, still holding the record in the 4x200 relay. Missing the game of football, Joey "walked on" his sophomore year and became a Black Bear, playing his sophomore and junior years. Upon graduation Joey headed west to seek his fame and fortune. He lived his life to the fullest with zest and a kind and loving spirit. He was employed by D'Agostino Consulting LLC, in Beverly Hills, CA, serving as Director of VIP Relations. Joey is survived by his parents Joe and Marlene (D'Eon) Olszewski of Alfred, his loving sister Jennifer A. Olszewski of Portland, and his cherished baby brother Dara M. Olszewski of Alfred. His maternal grandparents Adelbert and Elizabeth D'Eon of Danvers, MA. His paternal grandparents Joseph and Regina Olszewski of Dover, FL and many aunts, uncles and cousins. A special thank you to Matt Woodward, James Scott, Angelo DiPietro, Vanessa Picone and Jeremiah Fitzpatrick for surrounding Joey with love always but especially during his sudden illness. Visiting hours are Sunday, September 12, from 4 to 7 PM at Carll-Heald and Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale, ME. A Memorial Celebration will be held on Monday, September 13 at 11:00 AM at Curtis Lake Church, 38 Westview Drive, Sanford, ME.
