John Ronald Boyd, known to most as Jack Boyd, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at the age of 95. A beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, veteran, and friend. Jack lived a full and meaningful life rooted in family and community.

Jack was born on April 16, 1930, in Georgetown, Massachusetts to Hugh Ronald Boyd and Julia Elizabeth Wasson. He grew up with a deep appreciation for hard work and family values that would guide him throughout his life. Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Carolyn Hughes Boyd, and by his son, Tim Boyd, who passed away in 2019. He is survived by his daughter Brenda Boyd Lacey (Sam) of Wendell, NC; and three sons, Darryl Boyd (Susan Snyder) of Buxton, ME; David Boyd (Toby) of Jackman, ME; and Tom Boyd (Kristine) of Haverhill, MA. He also leaves behind many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren who will carry forward his legacy with love and pride.

Jack proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Shapleigh, Maine, and an active member of several community organizations, including the VFW, American Legion, and Elks Club. He was also a Master Mason with Charles C. Dame Lodge of Georgetown, MA.

An outdoorsman at heart, Jack enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling, and he cherished time spent at his hunting cabin is Eustis, Maine. Before retiring to his beloved home on Mousam Lake in Shapleigh, He was a long-time resident of Georgetown, Massachusetts, where he and Carolyn raised their family.

Jack was a well-known builder and developer and proudly owned and operated Georgetown Lumber Yard for many years. He also served as the Building Inspector for the town of Georgetown and was a Trustee at Georgetown Savings Bank, demonstrating his deep commitment to the community he loved.

Jack will be remembered for his strength, humor, generosity, and love of family and friends. His life’s work, and the memories he created will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Shapleigh, Maine.
