John J. Palmitessa

John Joseph Palmitessa, Jr., 84, of Ponte Vedra, Florida, formerly of Springvale, passed away on August 29, 2018 in Ponte Vedra.John was born on September 9, 1933 to John and Clementine (Petit) Palmitessa in Biddeford where he grew up and attended local schools. He married Reinette Bacon and they lived together in Springvale. John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was employed as a pipefitter at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for many years. He spent his later years in Florida where he enjoyed going to the beach, boating, going out to eat and spending time with family. John will be forever missed by his wife, Reinette Palmitessa. He is survived by his daughter and husband, Julia and Jon Hunter, his son and wife, John III and Pam Palmitessa and his grandchildren, Jesse and Jennifer Hunter, Jacob and Donna Hunter, Nicole Palmitessa, Kelsey Palmitessa, Julianna and Tyler Albert, Addiana Palmitessa, Elizabeth Palmitessa, John Palmitessa IV and Gianna Palmitessa; a sister, Arlene Larochelle; a brother, Ovide Palmitessa; six grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 8th from 11:30 to 1:00 with a funeral service following at 1:00 at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, located at 580 Main Street in Springvale.
