John “Jack” T. Zuk

John “Jack” Thomas Zuk, 71, of Sanford passed away on January 24, 2026, after a brief illness at Maine Medical Center in Portland.

He was born on December 21, 1954, to Stephen P. and Bernice F. (Sudol) Zuk in Beverly, MA and was a graduate of Danvers High School.

Jack worked with his dad and brother building many homes. He was employed as manager for many years at the Lafayette Club, retiring from there in 2015.

He was a member and also 17 years past president of the Sons of the American Legion for, a member of the Arundel Eagles, Lafayette Club, Wolves Club, Springvale Social Club, as well as a member and beloved past bartender of the Sanford Elks Lodge, whose signature saying was “We don’t do that on Sunday!”

He enjoyed watching all the New England sports teams, Nascar races, hunting trips and his trips to Las Vegas, Foxwoods, and Boothbay Harbor. His favorite trip was going with a few friends to Sturgis on his motorcycle.

Jack is predeceased by his parents.

Survivors include his sister Patricia Bolz and her husband Andrew, brother Stephen Zuk and his significant other Nicole of Sanford, nieces and nephews, Christopher Zuk and his wife Cheryl of Sanford, Stephen Zuk and his fiancé Lisa of York, Michael Zuk of Sanford, Lindsay Duchesneau and her husband Eric of Sanford, Stacie Hartley of Sanford, Brandy Clough and her husband Jason, of North Berwick, Jonathan Bolz and his wife Jen of Rochester, NH and Cheryl Flanigan and her husband Eric, and many great and great great nieces and nephews.

He was a friend to many and was only a phone call away when help was needed. A smile that was contagious even on your worst days.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the Sanford Elks Lodge 13 Elm St, Sanford, ME 04073.

Always quick with a hello, conversation & share laughs every time I saw him at The Elks or The Soc. It was shear luck running into he & Wayne in Jackson Hole Wyoming during Sturgis Bike Week.
