Joel W. Lucier

Joel W. Lucier, 56, of Sanford, died at his home on Friday, January 18, 2013.Joel was born in Rochester, New Hampshire on December 14, 1956 to Urban "Joe" and Patricia Lucier. He grew up in Meredith, Connecticut where he attended local schools. When he was in his 20's he relocated to Maine.Joel was employed as a machinist at WASCO in Sanford for many years until the company closed. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed going for long rides through the country with his wife Carolyn who he affectionately referred to as his "Ladybug." Joel was a quiet man and enjoyed spending time at home with his family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed making people smile. He will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.Surviving are his wife Carolyn Lucier, two daughters, Joyce Nelson and Kelly Gray; a step-son, Robert Gossiaux, his father, Urban "Joe" Lucier, four brothers, Ray Lucier, Edward Lucier, Ronald Lucier and Kerry Lucier, his former spouse of 17 years, Terry Gassett, several grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, January 24th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please click on the condolences tab to the left.
