Jocelyn Bernice Hartford

December 13, 1960 ~ February 7, 2026

Jocelyn B. Hartford lived a full, generous, and laughter filled 65 years before passing away unexpectedly in her sleep on Saturday, February 7, 2026.

Jocelyn was born December 13, 1960, in Sanford, Maine to parents George and Lorraine Dubois where she continued living throughout her life. She cherished her nearly 42 years of marriage to her very best friend, Brion Hartford. Together they went on to raise two children, run a successful towing and truck repair business, and most recently had been enjoying their retirement together traveling and spending time in nature.

A shield of armor and a heart of gold. Jocelyn loved deeply and would do anything to protect the people she cared about. She loved nature, being outside and gardening. She loved to cook, bake, and grow her own herbs. Her love of feeding people was a profound expression of care, connection, and community. She donated every year to soup kitchens and enjoyed her time with the Sanford Backpack Program. She loved laughing, making memories and spending time with family. She also had a huge love for animals, especially her cats. She loved music and dancing; her energy was contagious. She will be deeply missed.

Jocelyn was predeceased by her parents and her brothers, David and Patrick Dubois. She leaves behind her husband Brion, their two sons Mathew and Adam Hartford, as well as her grandchildren Drew, Juliana, Griffin, Ella, Tucker, Sable and Ripken. She also leaves behind a sister Elaine Sevigny and brother Mark Dubois and other family and friends.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday February 21st, 2026. Visiting hours will be from 9:00 am to 11:00 am with a service to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Sanford Backpack Program.

  11. It seems not that long ago (10-15yrs) we were gathering with other classmates to share memories and laughter. The last time I was able to join them, Jocelyn was so excited about the Airstream that they had just bought, and renovations were running through her mind that day. She was so excited to get started on traveling in her home on wheels.
Brion, she loved you so much. She found it to be an honor to be called your wife and best friend. She loved her boys and their families wholeheartedly.
I was honored to be called friend from a distance. If I still lived up there I would have hoped to continue with our get togethers. She will be and is missed. Prayers of condolences and comfort to the Hartford and Dubois families.
