Joan M. Kelley

Joan M. Kelley, 75, of Acton, died on Sunday, October 30, 2011 at the H.D. Goodall Hospital in Sanford. Joan was born in Caribou on June 14, 1936 to Alex and Matilda Michaud and attended local schools. In 1962 she married Glenn Kelley and they spent the next 49 years together and raised six children. She was employed for many years at Sturm Ruger Pine Tree Castings in Newport, New Hampshire and later for Pratt and Whitney in North Berwick, where she worked until she retired.Joan was devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed attending family gatherings, preparing fresh vegetables from her garden and sewing. She will be remembered as a kind and loving woman and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Joan was predeceased by a brother, Galen Michaud.Surviving are her husband, Glenn Kelley of Acton; six children, Cheryl Martel of Sunapee, New Hampshire, Tammy Aubert and her husband Ronald of Warner, New Hampshire, Donna Kelley of Manchester, New Hampshire, Crystal Knightsbridge and her husband Robert of Farmington, New Hampshire, Vickie Kelley of Concord, New Hampshire and Michael Kelley of Acton; two brothers, Gilman and Frasier Michaud of Newport, New Hampshire and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a memorial service following at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November, 3rd at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale.
