Joan M. Bean

Joan M. Bean, 67, of Sanford, died on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.Joan was born in Pepperell, MA on October 20, 1942, a daughter to Edgar J. and Ethel L. (Conner) Cormier.She grew up in Fitchburg, MA, attending Fitchburg High School. She moved to Sebago, Maine in 1979 and to Sanford in 1981.Joan worked as a waitress for many years. She worked at the Egg and I in Ogunquit for 29 years, Fi-Woods in Sanford for 12 years and Christo's in Sanford for 17 years.Joan was a strong woman and a hard worker who lived a quiet life. She enjoyed being at home. She was a lover of animals. She enjoyed the company of her three dogs, Harley, Mitzy and Oreo. She enjoyed shopping with her daughters. She loved movies, watching them at home and in the movie theaters.Surviving are three daughters, Kathleen Tranchemontagne and her husband Ronald of Sanford, Patricia Pietila of Sumner, ME and Cheryl Ryder and her husband George of Springvale; a son, Charles Dana Bean Jr. of Franklin, New Hampshire. She is also survived by a sister, Jacqueline Marrama and her husband Ray of Fitchburg, MA and nine grand children, Trevor, Zachary, Danielle, Alex, Travis, Ashley, Amber, Dana and Sophia.A Memorial Service will be held at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale on Saturday, February 6th at 10 am.
