  7. So sorry to hear of Joan’s passing. I grew up down the street from Joan and at 8 years old, loved to stop in to say hello and have a quick visit with her! Joan was the kindest most compassionate women who always had time for the neighborhood children! She was also my CCD instructor and I looked forward to that 1 hour class every week because Joan always had some cookies at the end if you behaved and listened well. Although I have not seen Joan for many years, I have thought of her often and have never forgotten her kindness towards me and my brothers. She was an angel here on earth and now she is an angel in heaven! Rest in peace dear Joan.

  8. Ma Banks was the epitome of hospitality to us and many others over many happy years. She greeted us like royalty and embraced us as an angel with love, acceptance, quiet assurance that all would be well. What an example of faith she was to us in their demeanor, and actions. There was always room at the table for one more and those of us who joined her and her equally hospitable family. We have been truly blessed by her and them. What a woman and what a spirit she was. She will live on in our hearts. So glad Steve brought her by for a visit recently. The smile is still embedded in our minds. Love to all her children with whom we are bonded for life despite distant miles and days.

    – Bud and Priscilla Demont

  9. I was so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. She was one of the first people I met when joining Val Halla. She and Jane Wacker were fearsome competitors on the golf course and they taught me a lot about golf. Enjoyed seeing the family grow up under the outstanding tutelage from your Mom..she will be sorely missed.
