Windham – Joan B. Munroe, 91, passed away on September 22, 2025, in Scarborough. Joan was born on April 15, 1934, in Portland, the daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude (Wallace) Munroe.
Joan attended schools in South Portland. She was a life member of the American Legion Aux. in Westbrook, Post 197, the V.F.W. Aux. in Portland, Post 6859, and the Eagles Aux Aerie 2977. Joan enjoyed reading, dancing, karaoke, and spending time with her family.
Joan was predeceased by her husband, of 20 years, Robert A. Munroe; sons, Timothy Patrick and William S. Munroe; grandson, William “Billy” Munroe; brothers, Duke Knight and Donald Wallace; sister, Mary Martin Foss; daughter-in-law, Eleita Munroe; close friends, Alice Ricci and Pam Welch. She is survived by her children, Barbara Adriance, Rose Roberts, Robert Munroe II, Charles, and John Munroe; sister, Charlene Tibbetts; 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Visting Hours will be held from 9:30am – 11am on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the Conroy-Tully Walker Funeral Home of Portland, 172 State St., Portland. A Funeral Service will begin at 11am; interment to follow at Knight Cemetery, 134 Brand Rd. Windham.
