Jenny N. Goodwin

Jenny N. Goodwin, 101, formerly of Mousam Street in Sanford, died September 6 at the Greenwood Center in Sanford after a long illness.She was born in Keene, NH on July 22, 1904, the daughter of Louis and Annie (Darling) Nalibow. At age 12 she moved to Springvale and was a graduate of Sanford High School where she played basketball.Mrs. Goodwin worked as a cost estimator for the former Goodall-Sanford Textile Mills and later worked for the Sanford Water District and the Sanford Sewerage District, retiring at age 85.She was an avid traveler, having visited 7 different countries around the world, Las Vegas, Atlantic City and took frequent bus trips to shows in Boston.She was a former director of the Mousam Valley Chapter of AARP, a patron of the Trafton Center, and a former member of the Rebekahs, the Business Professional Women's Club of Sanford, and the Sanford Number One Pond Committee. She enjoyed picking vegetables and fruit and giving them to friends. She was also an avid bridge player.Her husband Cecil L. Goodwin, died in 1977.Survivors include some nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 1 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. Burial will take place in Rochester Cemetery.Condolences may be expressed at the tab to left.
