Jeffrey Ernest Matt, 55, of Sanford passed away peacefully in his home early Monday morning on March 4, 2013. Jeffrey was born October 12, 1958, in Meriden, CT the son of Ernest and Marion Matt.Jeff was a family man, truly devoted to his wife and five children. His most cherished activities were in attending his children's baseball games, track events, and band concerts. His voice could be heard loudest across any stadium and auditorium as he cheered on his children.Jeffrey was an outdoorsman who loved to go hunting with his sons and found great joy spending time in the garden along side his wife, Michelle. He was a skilled wood floor carpenter, contractor and landscaper. An all around handyman, he believed he could fix or salvage just about anything that broke. He began his business in the 1980's and freelanced around York County, New Hampshire, and northern Massachusetts. Jeffrey was a devout Christian beginning each morning with Bible readings and prayer. He often shared scriptures relevant to peoples' lives offering them hope and truth as he shared his faith. He led his family through his deep faith. He fought hard alongside his wife during her battle with breast cancer offering words of strength and comfort as he served her breakfast in the mornings. His genuine love and passionate care will be remembered always.Jeff is survived by his wife of 28 years, Michelle Matt, and his five children, daughter Jessica Matt, and sons Justin, Nicholas, Lucas, and Ethan Matt. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at the Church of the Prince of Peace located at 922 Main Street in Sanford in the lower Mid-Town Mall.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider sending a memorial contribution to the Church of the Prince of Peace, P.O.
