Jeannine Poisson
Jeannine V. Poisson, 76, of Springvale, died at her home surrounded by her family on Monday, March 4, 2013 after a brief illness.Jeannine was born in St. Agatha, Maine on May 3, 1936 to Donat and Jeanne (Dube) Desrosiers. When she was young her family moved to Biddeford where she grew up and attended local schools. In 1960 she married Joseph E. Poisson. After being married for a couple of years, Jeannine and her husband relocated to Sanford where they raised their family. During her working life she was employed at several textile mills and went on to work at Thomas and Betts in Sanford where she stayed for several years until she retired in 1998.Jeannine enjoyed knitting, camping, family get-togethers, barbeques and sitting on her porch waiting for friends to stop by and chit chat. She loved hosting EVERY holiday and family event and always made spending time with them a priority. She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church where she served as a C.C.D. teacher and a Eucharistic Minister for many years. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.Jeannine was predeceased by her brother, Norman Desrosiers.Surviving are her husband, Joseph E. Poisson of Springvale; four children, Gary Poisson of Springvale, Ricky Poisson and his wife Paula of Greenfield Center, New York, Cynthia Jackson and her husband Christopher of Hollis Center and Debra Paradis and her husband Leo of Springvale; four grandchildren, Michael Pelletier and his wife Leah of Springvale, Emily Poisson of Sanford, Jean-Luc Poisson of Greenfield Center, New York and Richelle Poisson of Greenfield Center, New York; one great-grandson, Maddix Pelletier of Springvale and two sisters, Claudette Bisson and her husband Robert of Sanford and Edwina Poisson and her husband Philip of Sanford.Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 PM on Sunday, March 17th at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home located at 580 Main Street in Springvale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 18th at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Church, located on Payne Street in Springvale.
