Jeannette A. Smith

Jeannette A. Smith, 91, of Sanford and Wells, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, April 21, 2008 at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born in St. Fortunat, P.Q., Canada on February 16, 1917, a daughter of Phidelem and Laura (Gosselin) Grenier. She had been employed in the Sanford Mills and at Western Electric in Massachusetts. She enjoyed her home at Wells Beach and her friends and family. She also enjoyed dancing with her husband, Russell.She is predeceased by her husband, Russell Smith and one brother, Rene Grenier.She is survived by her nephews, Paul, Phillip and Dennis and his wife, Jane, all of Sanford, a grandniece, Brigette Devereaux of MA, a sister in law, Eunice Grenier and Marion Sudgen of Sanford, nieces, Cathy Sleeper and her husband, David of Rockland and Kim Baer and her husband, Dirk of Indiana and many cousins. She is also survived by her personal healthcare provider, Marilyn Bolduc of Sanford.Visiting hours will be on Thursday, April 24th from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, St. Ignatius Church in Sanford.
