Jeannette Bossie, 91, of North Berwick, passed away peacefully with her daughters at her side at the Greenwood Center on Tuesday November 22, 2016 She was born in Canada on September 28, 1925 a daughter of the late Alfred and Laura (Ouellette) Soucy. In 1944 she married Romain Bossie where they raised their family in Soldier Pond, ME.After 1965, she was employed at the hospital in Fort Kent, ME as a Dietitian Aide. She moved to Sanford ME in 1978 due to her husband's illness where she cared for him selflessly in their home till his death in 1989.She moved to North Berwick, ME in 1992 where she lived with her daughter and family. She also worked part-time at the Maine Stay Nursing Home till she retired. August of 2012, she became a residence of the Greenwood Nursing Facility in Sanford, ME. Jeannette loved and enjoyed working and spending time in her flower and vegetable gardens.Her pleasure was furnishing her family and friends with fresh and canned vegetable. Her other hobbies were crafts, crocheting, knitting, sewing and baking which she also shared. Another joy and love was when she had the opportunity to dance at family celebrations.She was a sweet and caring mother who always, always put her loved ones first. Her favorite moments were times spent especially during holidays with family and grandchildren whom will deeply miss her. Our mother was a compassionate, sweet, caring woman, for example; taking care of a diabetic neighbor for years and putting others needs before her own. She always put her loved ones first.She is predeceased by her husband as well as one son, Leland Bossie, brothers, Roger Soucy, Edwin Soucy, Fred Soucy, sisters, Loretta Theodora and Rolande Collin. She is survived by children, Arlene Godin and her husband, Gilbert of Lebanon, Linda Deschenes and her husband, Gordon of Lebanon, Mary Ann Godin and her husband, Roger of Lebanon, Joyce Martin and her husband, Paul of St. John, Angela Pelletier and her husband, Robert of North Berwick, Laura Dionne and her husband, Dr. Marcel of Alaska, her brother, Donald Soucy of New Britian, CT, 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.Jeannette's family would like to give special thanks to her care-givers at Greenwood Nursing Home where their regard and compassion enhanced the final stage of her life.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, May 12th at 10AM at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church. Burial will follow at St. Ignatius Cemetery.
