Jeannette D. Bacon, 92 years old, of Springvale, ME died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at her home.Jeannette was born in Biddeford, ME on December 27, 1914. She was the daughter of the late David and Adiana Gregoire Vir.Jeannette attended Biddeford schools, and worked a various shoe shops over the years.Jeannette was a loving mother of 12 children, a devoted and caring wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great great-grandmother. She loved to travel across the U.S.; from Maine to Alaska, to California, Florida, and back again she never grew weary of the time she spent traveling to see her loved ones. Jeannette was a communicant of Notre Dame Church in Springvale, as well as a friend of the Curtis Lake Christian Church of Sanford. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and doing craftwork. Her husband John T. Bacon, and their daughter Claire Racicot predecease Jeannette.Surviving are five daughters, Reinette Bacon of Springvale, Rachel Monroe of St. Augustine, FL, Claudette Gray of Lyman, Judy Hayes of Webster, NH, Rita Thibeault of Sanford; six sons, Ronald Bacon of Shapleigh, Michael Bacon of N. Attleboro, MA, Dr. Paul R. Bacon D.C. of Kittery, ME and Rye, NH, Maurice Bacon of Sanford, Terry Bacon of Auckland, New Zealand, and Jimmy Bacon of Springvale. Also surviving are 38 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren, and 9 great great-grandchildren.A period of visitation for Jeannette will be held this Sunday, May 6, 2007 from 2 to 5 PM at the Lafrance Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter St. Sanford, ME. A 10:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 7, 2007 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, St. Therese Parish, in Springvale, ME.For those that desire, memorial contributions may be made in Jeannette's memory to Youth With A Mission, c/o Curtis Lake Christian Church, 38 Westview Dr., Sanford, ME 04073.
