Jeanne T. FlayhanSanfordJeanne T. Flayhan passed away on October 3, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was born on January 31, 1940 in Sanford, the daughter of Hildebert and Laura Desrochers. She attended St. Ignatius Schools.Throughout her life Jeanne worked at a local shoe shop, Tennford Weaving Company and her brother's family business, Coleco Pools, retiring after more than 20 years. Those who knew Jeanne, knew how much she truly loved working with her brother in the pool business.Jeanne was a very dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother, who did so much for her family. From helping with home projects and babysitting, to just giving her advice. She was the person her family looked up to.Jeanne also loved working in her flower garden, attending flower shows, cooking for her family and she also enjoyed frequent trips to Foxwoods with her husband.She will be sadly missed by her husband of 50 years, Al, two daughters ; Laurie Melanson and husband Mark of Sanford, and Paula McCallion and Don of Strafford, NH ; two sons, Michael Flayhan and wife Arlene, Anthony Flayhan and wife Missy all of Sanford ; her six grandchildren, Maria and Tiffany Melanson, Donald and Chelsea McCallion and Ryan and Tyler Flayhan ; several nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Irene Desrochers and Lucille Nolan of Sanford, three brothers ; Armand Desrochers and wife Patricia, Niel Desrochers and wife Claudette and Bob Desrochers of Sanford. She was predeceased by a sister Anita Guertin.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the American Cancer Society, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island, Topsham, ME 04086.Visiting hours will be Tuesday, October 7 from 4 :00-7 :00 PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main St., Springvale. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 :00 AM on Wednesday at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, St. Igantius Church, Sanford.
