Jean H. McCann

SANFORD, Maine - Jean Helen (Lynch) McCann, 85, of Sanford, Maine died of natural causes at the Newton Center on July 10, 2010. Born on April 11 1925, in Boston, Mass., she was the daughter of the late William Lynch and Jeanne (Holohan) Lynch. Raised in Jamaica Plain, Mass., she was a retired AT&T telephone operator. She resided mainly in Whitman, MA, Brockton, MA and York, ME. She was an avid traveler visiting family in Scotland, Canada and Hawaii. While her son was in the Military she had the fun of seeing the Azores, Germany and Oklahoma.She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband James J. McCann.She is survived by her son Robert W. McCann, his wife, Shirley, their children, Amanda of Honolulu, Hawaii, Jessica (McCann) Goode of Lebanon, Maine, Joshua of Kennebunk, Maine, Julianna of Dover, NH and great- grandchildren, Lily, Jack, Cassandra, Jacob and Caitlyn.Funeral services for Mrs. McCann will be private.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Diabetes Association, 80 Elm Street, Portland, ME 04101.Arrangements are under the direction of Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home in Springvale.To leave a message of condolence for the family please visit www.blackfuneralhomes.com.
