Jean Paul Guillemette

Jean Paul Guillemette, 83, of Springvale, passed away at his home on Friday August 28, 2009, following a long illness. He was born in Sanford on October 15, 1925, a son of Raphael and Emelina (Legare) Guillemette. He attended Holy Family School and was a lifelong communicant of the St. Therese of Lisieux Parish community.He served in the US Army during WWII. On October 25, 1947, he married the former Lillian Legere at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Sanford. He was a member of the Springvale Knights of Columbus Council #2755, and a member of the American Legion Post in Sanford. For 17 years he had been employed by Genest Concrete and later worked for Roger Morin Concrete Company. He started his own business- Guillemette Concrete Co., and operated the company for over 20 years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed square dancing and the outdoors, especially fishing.He is predeceased by his parents, Raphael and Emelina Guillemette and one brother, Dr. Maurice Guillemette.He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lillian M. Guillemette of Springvale and several nieces and nephews.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, August 31st at 11Am at St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, Notre Dame Catholic Church in Springvale.
