Jean E. Coughlin

Jean E. Coughlin, 86, of Springvale, passed away on Thursday December 21, 2017 at the Lodges in Springvale. She was born in Biddeford on November 21, 1931 a daughter of the late Wilbur and Elizabeth (Taylor) Hayford. She attended and graduated from Biddeford High School.On November 23, 1952 she married Fred Coughlin. She retired from Sprague Electric with 30 years of service with the company. Her faith inspired her to be enthusiastically involved in her church, serving in various capacities including teaching Bible School and serving as Deaconess.Along with her husband they enjoyed visiting and taking day trips throughout Maine and New Hampshire. In later years they had fond memories reminiscing about these excursions.She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Fred Coughlin, her children, Pamela Durgin and her husband, Mark of Springvale, Bethany Reed and her partner, Jeff Hooper of Wells, Tricia Dugre and her husband Marc of Sanford, Kevin Coughlin and his wife, Deb of Kittery, eight grandchildren, four great grandchildren, one sister, Shirley of New Hampshire.A funeral service will be held on Friday December 29th at 1PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street.
