Portland- Jane Seymour Pearson, 70, passed away at MassachusettsGeneral Hospital, Bostonon May 13, 2016 following a brief illness. She was born on July 7, 1945, in Portland. Maine the daughter of the late Robert A. Seymour Jr. and Genevieve ODonnell Seymour. Jane was a 1964 graduate of South Portland High School. Her working career started in 1965 as an operator for the New England Telephone Company in Portland, Maine. After several years of being an operator, Jane received her Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) degree and spent 50 years as a dedicated caregiver to hundreds of senior citizens, usually in their own homes. Prior to moving to Cape Coral, Florida in 2002 Jane worked for a few years at the Maine Medical Center as a CNA. Subsequent to Janes move from Portland to Florida with her husband William Pearson, she worked as a CNA until February 2016. Professional Hall of Fame golfer Patty Berg was one of Janes dearest clients and Jane was proud of the fact that she took care of Patty for over two years. Jane enjoyed doing crossword puzzles as a hobby and was exceptionally adept at them-while drinking her favorite beverage, tea. She also loved to travel and made several trips to Europe with her husband Bill. Her final 18 day trip to Europe in 2015 was by herself. During her travels, Jane visited Stonehenge, Rome, Normandy Beach, Budapest, and Paris. Jane enjoyed meeting new people and her personality was effervescent and attractive. In fact, Jane was the family Facebook phenomenon where she spread personal and family news to the world. Another hallmark of Janes life was her strong sense of patriotism and observance of patriotic holidays. She often spoke of her brother Bobs retiring as a Major from the United States Air Force and her brother Bills graduation from West Point and retirement from the Army as a Lt. Colonel. Jane served as an auxiliary chaplain at the Moose Lodge in Cape Coral, Florida. Jane is survived by four children; Fred and his wife Randi Alexander of Wixom, MI, Chris Alexander of Wixom, MI, Jen Alexander of Kingston, NY, and Suzy Dyer of Kingston, NY. She loved her children immensely and doted over her 8 grandchildren (Abigail, DAndre, Joshua, Gabriel, Corina, Olivia, Emma, Jayda) all of whom she loved to visit. Jane intensely followed the grandchildrens academic, social, and sports accomplishments and they all knew that nana loved them deeply. Jane was a loving, caring, and vivacious person who left the world better than she found it, touched many friends lives, and was always willing to help people whenever she could. Jane has now passed to heaven into the arms of Jesus our Lord. 6. Wow, it hurt when we heard Jane passed away. But, knowing she passed away on the first apparition of our Lady of Fatima brought some consolation that our Blessed Mother was there to greet Jane as her soul entered Heaven to escort her to our Lord Jesus, while it does not take away our pain it certainly softens it. She’s a wonderful lady.
