Jan R. Wilson

Jan Ronald Wilson, 77, of Spring Hill, FL, a longtime resident of Shapleigh, died May 18 at the HPH Hospice Center in Brooksville, FL.He was born in Dunbarton, NH on January 2, 1936, the son of Paul H. and Arlene (Farnsworth) Wilson and was a 1953 graduate of Concord (NH) High School.He was a veteran of the US Air Force.Mr. Wilson worked as a surveyor for the state of New Hampshire for several years. He then went to work for Pratt & Whitney and retired after 30 years of service.An avid hunter and outdoorsman, he loved the woods, snowmobiling and especially long bow archery.He was a member of the Maine Bowhunters' Association, the Sportman's Alliance of Maine and the National Rifle Association.Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Nancy (Ford) Wilson of Spring Hill, FL, son Mike Wilson of East Longmeadow, MA, son Eric Simpson Wilson of Norfolk, CT, son Jay R. Wilson of Monson, MA, daughter Jennifer Wilson Horr of Springvale, brother Donald Wilson of Concord, NH, stepson Scott Alexandre of Spring Hill, FL, 14 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15 at 11:00 AM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale.Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the American Cancer Society, 1 Bowdoin Mill Island Suite 300, Topsham, ME 04086.Arrangements are under the direction of Black Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Sanford-Springvale.
