James M. Valley

HOLY HILL, FL James M. Valley 61 formerly of Sanford, ME died April 20, 2008 at Florida Hospice Hospital in Ormond Beach Fl. He was born in Sanford, ME April 11, 1947 the son of Maurice & Lauriane (Poulin) Valley. He attended local schools and enlisted in the Army in 1965 where he obtained his GED and after discharge earned a college degree in business management.During his tours of duty in Vietnam & Korea in 1965 and 1966 he was awarded the bronze star and purple heart. He also received the good conduct medal, armed forces expeditionary medal, national defense service medal, and the Vietnam campgain medal. He was honorably discharged with the rank of sergeant E-5 in 1972.Jim was predeceased by his father Maurice in 1999.Survivors are his mother Lauriane Valley of Sanford, his sister Linda Valley Stanley and her husband Dan of Shapleigh, two children, three grandchildren and nieces & nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 :00 AM Wednesday May 14 in St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, St. Ignatius Church.
