Gorham- James F. Knox, 69, of Ossipee Trail, died Tuesday July 19, 2016 at the Gosnell Hospice House with his loving family by his side. Jim was born in Dorchester, MA on October 30,1946 the son of Roberta E. (McDevitt) Gately. He graduated from South Boston High School in 1966. Jim and his wife, Patricia A. (Leeman) Knox, spent the majority of their life together in Malden, MA. After he retired from the Telephone Company in 1997, they moved to Maine. He most recently worked at the Holiday Inn Express in South Portland. Jim and Pat were longtime campers at Kokatosi Campground in Raymond, ME where they made lifelong friends that they consider family. Jim is best known as, Knoxie. He was an incredible cook who loved to entertain, listened to all kinds of music from Streisand and Sinatra to Broadway and Christmas music. Jim is predeceased by his Stepfather, Robert Gately. He is survived by his Mother, Roberta Gately of Westwood, MA; his loving wife of 44 years Patricia Knox of Gorham, ME; his son James R. Knox of Gorham, ME; grandsons Keegan and Logan; his daughter Danielle Baratta of Scarborough, ME and her husband Ryan and their children Landen Taryn who were Jims pride and joy. He also lovingly raised Pats youngest Sister, Kelli Colarusso from the time she was 11. He became very close to her husband Billy Colarusso, their daughters Kristi and Kayla were like granddaughters to him. He was a beloved brother to Karen, Billy, Buddy and Paul, as well as, many nieces and nephews. 1313 Visiting hours will be held on Monday, July 25, 2016 from 4:00 to 6:00pm at the Conroy-Tully Walker South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway. A service will follow at 6:00pm at the Chapel. Burial will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at Calvary Cemetery, Broadway, South Portland.
