James J. Daigle, 81, of Sanford, passed away on Monday July 26, 2010 at the Kennebunk Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born in Somersworth, NH on June 13, 1929, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Carrigan) Daigle. After graduating from Somersworth High School he served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict.On July 5, 1954 he married the former Doris Allaire at Holy Family Church in Sanford.Mr. Daigle retired in 1988 from G.E. in Somersworth with over 30 years of service with the company. An avid fan of old cars he belonged to the MOAL Car Club.He is predeceased by two sisters, Carolyn Cutter and Joan Karwowski.He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris (Allaire) Daigle of Sanford, two daughters, Diane Mackay of Sanford and Donna Cyr of Somersworth, NH, four grandchildren, Alan Mackay, Sarah Mackay Beaudoin and her husband Marc, Kylie Cyr and Mary Cyr, one sister, Mary Leahy and her husband, Robert of Center Barnstead, NH, as well as several nieces and nephews.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11AM at St. Therse of Lisieux Parish, Holy Family Church. Visiting hours will be on Friday from 9AM until the time of the funeral service at the Lafrance-Lambert & Black Funeral Home, 29 Winter Street, Sanford.
