Jacques Dupuis

jacques dupuis
Jacques N. Dupuis, 74, of Sanford Maine, passed away on February 20th, 2022. Jacques was born on October 3rd, 1947 to parents Andre & Madeleine Dupuis in Granby Quebec, Canada. At 18 years of age, Jacques and his family moved to the United States. After graduating from Alburg High School in Vermont, he went on to study education at Johnson State College. At Johnson State he became a member of the Tau Beta Epsilon fraternity and quickly made a name for himself as the quick- witted, enthusiastic, French man on campus with a zest for life. In his junior year, he studied abroad in France through a joint program with the University of Vermont fulfilling the requirements for becoming a high school French teacher. While at Johnson State College, he met the love of his life, Sharon Carpenter, whom he would go on to marry and together they would build their family. After graduation, Jacques and Sharon married and moved to Bennington, Vermont where he landed his first job as a French teacher at Arlington High school. In Bennington, their first child, Paul, was born. After a few years of teaching, Jacques learned that this career was not what he had expected and was open to exploring other work opportunities. It wasn't long after he had these thoughts that he found himself at a live dinner-cookware demonstration where he realized his energy and personality would be a great fit for such work. And with that, he took a leap of faith, left his teaching job and began what would amount to be a 25 year, highly successful run, in cookware sales and management. He began this line of work with Miracle Maid Cookware and later transitioned to Lifetime Cookware. Over that time, Jacques and Sharon, who would accompany him on the live in-home dinner presentations, cooked thousands of demonstration dinners in homes throughout New England. For most of his career he was in his organization's top tier of producers and for his efforts, Jacques & Sharon were able to travel the world on numerous company sponsored trips. From Bennington Vermont, while working with Miracle Maid, he moved the family to Norwich Connecticut, where they lived for 12 years. While in Connecticut his 2nd and 3rd child, Marc & Liane were born. Finally, in 1987, while working with Lifetime Cookware, they moved to Sanford, Maine. In the mid 1990's Jacques was ready for a new sales challenge and after testing out a variety of industries found his perfect match with Aflac. Once again, his enthusiasm, personality and drive for the highest level of customer service were a perfect match for the company that featured the famous quacking duck in all of its commercials. As he did with all of his work, Jacques was all in 110%. You would know who was coming when you spotted the "Mr. Aflac" license plate or heard the actual quacking duck modified car horn signaling his arrival as he pulled up - anywhere. With Aflac, Jacques was also a regular on the company's top agent lists and was able to travel to numerous vacation locales on earned company trips with his wife. Jacques was never one to sit still, in addition to truly loving his work, he was an amazing do-it-yourselfer, he would not only do all of his and his family's automobile work, home building/plumbing/wiring projects but would never hesitate to help a family member, friend or neighbor with literally any task or job where that they needed help. Jacques was a true family man, loving husband, proud father & grandfather. Being together as a family is what he cherished most, not afraid to tell his wife, children and grandchildren how much he loved them. He loved playing cards with family and taught his children and grandchildren many such games. Jacques was a communicant of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish in Sanford and served as a Eucharistic minister for many years and in later years a greeter. Jacques was active in local civic organizations. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge while in Connecticut, and a member of both the Elks & Knights of Columbus while in Maine.Jacques was predeceased by his mother & father, Madeleine & Andre Dupuis and his younger brother Michel Dupuis.
