Irene Elizabeth Meserve

SOUTH PORTLAND - Irene Elizabeth Meserve, 68, died peacefully October 6, 2011at Maine Medical Center. She was born September 26, 1943 a daughter of Harold and Mary Fitzpatrick duff. Irene was educated in local schools and was a 1962 graduate of Cathedral High School. Following high school, Irene worked for Church World Publications for twelve years, She also worked at Blanchard Products, Pierce Atwood attorneys, and later for Cole-Hann Shoe. Irene was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary of Portland. She was predeceased by her parents; two sons, Kenneth W. Merserve, Jr. in 1990 and Donald E. Meserve in 1992; a sister Catherine Curran, a half-sister, Ann Conley, a half-brother, Harold Duff. Surviving are: ex-husband and friend Kenneth W. Meserve, Sr. of South Portland; sister, Patty Locke of Florida, a granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held from 4-6 p.m. on Friday, October 7th at Conroy-Tully Crawford South Portland Chapel, 1024 Broadway, South Portland. Relative and friends are invited to attend an 8:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 307 Congress Street, Portland. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, South Portland.
