Herman Connors

Herman R. Connors, 74, of Sanford, passed away on Tuesday August 30, 2005 at his home. He was born in Sanford on April 7, 1931, a son of Herman L. and Idella (Reid) Connors.Mr. Connors served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict stationed in Germany. He previously had been employed by Bernier's Egg Farm, Colonial Aircraft, Aerofab, Cyro and the Town of Sanford, retiring from the International Woolen Mill in 1992. He became known as the "Tractor Man" on Rt. 202.He was a lifetime member of the VFW having served as past commander in Sanford and Captain of the Color Guard.He is predeceased by his parents as well as five brothers and sisters.He will be missed by his loving wife of 32 years, Albenia (Legere) Connors of Sanford, his children, Donna Sutter of CA, Donald Connors of PA, David Connors of Wells, and Paula Vallejo of CA., 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.A graveside service will be held on Friday September 2 at 10am at Oakdale Cemetery followed by a military service conducted by the members of the VFW.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Make a Wish Foundation 87 Elm Street Suite 206 Camden, Maine 04843.Arrangements are under the direction of the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home 580 Main Street Springvale.Condolences may be expressed at the Condolences tab at left.
