Henry P. Plamondon
Henry P. Plamondon 87, a lifelong resident of Springvale, Maine died on March 17, 2015 at the Newton Center in Sanford. Henry was born May 6, 1927, to the late George and Beatrice Landry Plamondon. He attended local schools until being interrupted at age 17 to serve in the Navy on the USS Casco, in the Pacific Theatre. He was later honorably discharged and returned home to finish his education, graduating the Sanford Veterans School in 47'. After graduating he had various jobs such as driving water tanker trucks in the great fire of 47'. He would later begin a 35 year career in automotive repair & service stations. His repair skills, hard work, and honesty, coupled with an incredible memory made him successful and known to all.Henry belonged to the American Legion, Knights of Columbus, and was a lifelong member of the VFW. He relished time outdoors with many memories and vivid recollections of hunting and fishing with his buddies. Most special to him were those hours he spent boating on Square Pond where he owned a fishing camp. There he spent countless memories with his mother, daughter Lori, grandson/caregiver Brian and his countless friends he had made over the decades.Besides his grandson, Henry leaves behind his in laws, cousins, nephews and nieces in the US and in Canada, his long-time companions and Martha as well of thousands of friends. Henry was predeceased by his beloved daughter Lori, and other family members. Burial will be on Friday, May 22nd 9:00 AM in the Notre Dame Cemetery Springvale Maine, followed by a gathering at Christo's Place Restaurant located on Main Street in Sanford.
