Helene M. Larkin

Helene Larkin, 89, formerly of Wells, ME, passed away at Pilgrim Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Peabody, MA, on June 15, 2016.Helene was born and raised in London, UK. She lived there from 1927 to 1949 when she immigrated to New Jersey where she met and married Wayne Larkin in 1952. They moved to Nashua, NH in 1965 with their two daughters. She was the school secretary at Crowley and Fairgrounds Elementary Schools from 1968-1985 when she and Wayne retired to Wells, ME. Helene was a member of the Wells Congregational Church and an employee of the Wells Chamber of Commerce. She was an avid bridge player, knitter, quilter, gardener, book-reader, and an educated tennis fan. After a fall in 2009, Helene divided her time between Wells and Kittery Estates. In November 2014 she moved to Peabody, MA. Her vibrancy, vitality, and love will be missed.Helene was predeceased by her husband Wayne (2003), and son Ross (1957).She leaves behind two daughters, Jane Hamor and husband Richard of Dover, NH, Suzanne Larkin of Beverly MA; three grandchildren Brian his and wife Andrea, of Stowe VT, Seth, and Sarah and her husband David of Dover NH, and four great-grandchildren Stella, Lucia, Belle, and Dorothy.A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 28th at the Wells Congregational Church, located 1695 Post Road in Wells.
