Helen C. King

Helen Cecelia King died peacefully Friday October 5, 2007 at the Newton Center in Sanford. She was born in Providence Rhode Island on January 24, 1916, the daughter of Allen and Edna (Smart) KingAfter graduating from New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Helen was employed in the new x-ray department of the New England Baptist Hospital. Later she was employed by the Lahey Clinic. By the time of her retirement, she was the head surgical nurse in the Orthopedic Department. After retiring she moved to West Newfield to care for her mother who was in failing health. She was predeceased by her brothers Paul and Richard King, and her sisters Lucy King Bush and Ruth King Moulton. She is survived by her sister Dr. Marion K. Moulton in Kennebunk, a sister-in- law Zona Smith King in Athens Ohio as well as many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at the West Newfield Congregational Church on Saturday Oct. 13th at 2:00 p.m.In lieu of flowers donations in Helen's name may be made to the West Newfield Congregational Church.Services for the King Family have been arranged through the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home of Springvale, ME.To leave the family a message of condolence please use the "condolences" tab to the left.
