Helen B. Farnsworth

Helen B. Farnsworth, 82, of Alfred, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Monarch Center in Saco. She was born in Berwyn Illinois on March 13, 1931 a daughter of the late Harry and Helen (Campbell) Bragdon.In 1980 she and her husband, Joseph moved to Alfred. Helen took an active role town government serving on the Alfred Zoning Board, helping as an election warden and serving on the budget committee. A cat lover, she raised and cared for manycats over the years. She is predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Joseph Farnsworth, her son, Jack Farnsworth and sister, Harriet "Sonny" Geisler.She is survived by one son, Michael Farnsworth of Berwyn, Illinois, three grandchildren, Tim Farnsworth and his wife, Anna, Sara Farnsworth and Jason Farnsworth as well as several nieces and nephews.A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1PM at the Carll-Heald & Black Funeral Home, 580 Main Street, Springvale. Visiting hours will begin at 11AM until the time of the funeral service.
